Only complaint is that marking a clear space as a mine causes you to lose.

Nice.

24 layers! I'll see if I can get further.

46!

Nice!

19 layers. Gonna see if I can get further.

20 layers.

26 layers.

Nice one!

And up to 30.

Looks like there's no way to remove a flag once placed?

Yes, since the tiles disappear I made flags locked

Had a brain fart after so many levels. This is a really fun game.

Congrats!

Thanks!

this is a really great twist on Minesweeper, better than mine!

A couple of things:

  • there's not much to differentiate clues and un-clicked tiles - maybe the clue tiles should be darker or something?
  • it can sometimes be hard to tell which layer is at the top or below etc. - maybe the "current top layer" coloured square in the bottom-right-hand corner should be a series of stripes to show the hierarchy of layers?

Thank you for the comment. Some good ideas you got there!

The last five levels of progression all cleared in one click, and clearing the last one caused the game to crash.

Same here.

Weird bug, shouldn't be happening.

This is as far as I got. Guessed wrong on the 50/50.

Wow, you guys are really killing it! Gonna put your score up there as well!

amazing...

Thanks :)

it crashes when you win progressive but really nice game play!

Thanks! Seen that reported quite a lot, will note it.

nice

(also the music sounds like if Aphex Twin was corporate)

(edit: hi-score is 17 layers)

Congrats, that's 1 layer more than me. I made a score list in the description!

i completed the classic mode

Cool game! I have same idea some times ago, but too lazy to implement, and be very surprised!

But progression mode some times buggy... After ~4th layer every next levels w/o mines and game freezes with black screen at end.

Thank you!

That should not happen! I tested it myself and didn't get any issues. Mines should just be getting more with each layer. I'm playing in Chrome browser, maybe that's it? If not you can try the Download version.

(1 edit)

My wife and me played only web-latest chrome version already.

We get two full freezes as I describer above and many just an empty levels in middle of game, and an empty levels don't reveal top layers at all. (May be, break top revealing to next levels, but i am not sure) Me be it's give You some clues...

I would assume that it's because of save files, I'll look into it.

How/why does opening a lower level clear some of the higher level(s)?

Tiles reveal upper-layer tiles as well when revealed. So opening a layer also opens the tiles above. And I liked the feeling of that :)

(+1)

I dont understand how it works ):

Haha, it's basically just regular Minesweeper and you have 3 separate layers stacked on top of one another. If you want to practice the regular version first you can try classic mode by clicking on the mode button in the menu :)

thank you!

Ok, I guess this is the most interesting take on minesweeper I’ve seen in years. I’m afraid I’m quite sleepy today so couldn’t enjoy it fully with my eyes closing by themselves :D But overall - a very cool idea on solving stalemates.

A few minor issues I’ve noticed:

  1. After maybe even an hour of playing I still don’t fully get the rules of how lower level clears up the upper one. Sometimes it does… but occasionally it doesn’t. Unless it’s a known bug, because it looks like a bug: the lower level “should have been cleared” but the upper level stays there and can no longer be cleared by any means except by solving (or rather guessing the solution) it. EDIT: it seems like this happens when all the upper level is “over zeroes” for the lower level.

  2. Also now accidental clicks become extremely dangerous. Clicking guaranteed safe tiles can suddenly click the newly uncovered layer below, well, definitely not in the place it should have been clicked :) Also it’s the only version of Minesweeper where wrongly marking a mine results in gameover, still didn’t get used to “not counted free tiles marking them in the process”.

  3. The music is … annoying :) An option to turn it off could be welcome.

Highscore for today :)

Hello, thank you for the nice comment! Great score you got there.

1. If you solve a tile it will clear all tiles around it on all layers. Sometimes more tiles need to be uncovered first. But you're right, the blue tiles here seem like they should've been cleared already :D

2. When a tile is clicked it definitely shouldn't click the ones below too. Since the tiles disappear, I just made marking mines count as a reveal.

3. I'll keep that in mind ;)

After all this is still a first prototype.
Thanks for the feedback!

Got another bug with zeroes not filled properly:

(+1)

uh, that looks bad!

(1 edit)

Died on level 51 due to the bug (failed to guess correctly) :) Unrewarding :)

(+1)

Yea, I've noticed some weird stuff happening in corners as well. Awesome score you got there, you're holding the Highscore for now!

(+2)

Fun game! I'm kind of bad at it though

Thanks! Always a good idea to solve a lower layer to solve all of the above.
